State Pen

Several years ago our friend Barbara gave her heart to the Lord in the State Penitentiary. As she sought Him earnestly, God proceeded to delivered her from theft and other sins.

Last evening she went back to prison. The difference was that this time God cut through years of red tape and Ms. Barbara went in as a preacher of righteousness!

Not only did she preach to many of the same girls she'd known who were back again, but 23 of those girls confessed their sins and gave their lives to the Lord!

The state penitentiary is probably the most fertile ground for the Gospel. Jesus came not to call the 'righteous,' but sinners to repentence. The sinners in there humbly admit that their sinfulness has led them to destruction, and they are are ready to give over to Jesus the Son of God.

Maybe more of us righteous sinners out here should follow their example and find our true destiny in Him as well. He is the only Savior inside or outside.
