What's Next

At first the kids were just plain sleepy and a tad grumpy after their lengthy trip home from Africa. Now they are just sleepy, but they still have to go to school and attend sports practices.

Soon we will hear more details about their time in Africa. So far Rob just grins and says, "It was great!" and James wears his Africa necklace.

To Maggie, however, the long trip seems to have proved energizing. She is keeping Bob and me expectant about what's next. At present she is busily getting the paperwork together to attend the Holy Given School of Missions into which she has been accepted in Brazil.

It is headed up by Heidi Baker. Heidi and Rolland Baker have been advancing the Kingdom of God by whole villages as the fire of God falls, and the miraculous love, mercy and power of the Holy Spirit captures hearts across Africa.

Maggie will be leaving, God willing, January 8, 2007. In the meantime she has been learning from her experiences and unique opportunities with the kids she'd met last summer, and who were drawn to her during this trip. She loved their unspoiled gratitude.

They asked her about STDs, AIDS and morality, and what constitutes sin. She shared how to ask God for themselves if a particular favorite musician is godly or not. What excited her most was the wide-eyed attentiveness of the fatherless teenage boys, when she explained that God was their good and wise Father.

That, as a good Father, He expects them to obey Him. The truth of it seems to have stopped them in their tracks and put some light iin their eyes.
