Christmas Week

After a busy weekend we are preparing to fly north to our Emily place.

Yesterday was a lovely day of fellowship and Bible study. Maggie has officially been taken on as "our missionary" at Beit Lechem and the elders want to support her. Praise the Lord. What a neat answer to prayer. We love these folks and they are behind her call to Africa and training in Brazil. The leadership likes the way she thinks and are proud of her.

Our day ended with a party honoring the Light of the World, Jesus Yeshua, and lighting the Hanukkah lights. What fun for kids of all ages.

This morning four of us went down to the church in the park. It was cold and very foggy, but the street people welcomed us and we had a happy time and some good conversations. There just is not long enough to chat with everyone who wants to talk. Many received the Keys for Kids daily devotional book. Even though it is for children it has good stories and they had sent me about 15 copies. I must ask if Our Daily Bread has something special for homeless folks.

We saw our friend, Richard, who is a bell ringer for Salvation Army at Wal-Mart these days. We are proud of him that he got that job. He is not exactly homeless. He lives in his car, which is parked next to the park.

Jimmy Carwash was there with his notebook, journalling everything including the weather and the sermon. He had given away his stick. He told a guy who wanted it he could have it because a lady had shown him in God;s word Genesis 2 that God gave us dominion over the creatures.

I wish I could just go down to the park and sit and do Bible study with him. If that man had a full Bible and got really turned on to God;s word, I bet drinking and marijana would be boring to him. He is so hungry for truth, Please Father open the way for him to be fed the Bread of life.
