Money Miracles!
The team got off just fine for Africa yesterday after the usual last 24 hours challenges. They were short of money by several thousand dollars, but Ms. Amy and Mr. David, the fearless leaders and their children, were shouting praises to the Lord that every provision would be made. Sure enough, in the last few hours, when it was too late for any checks to arrive by mail, four people came up with checks totally $16,000!!
The team had been believing God for over and above the amount needed for expenses and airfare, so they could bless the missionaries and orphans there in Johannesburg. Wow, God sure has a lot of money.
I shared that story with my dear 80 year young friend from Ukraine, Lela, who had introduced me to our two Ukrainian boys. She was calling from Florida last night. She is here in the USA to tell people how God is answering her prayer and vision of an orphanage for the big kids who do not get adopted and would be homeless again. Some of these children are sent to trade school or college and live in a rather inadequate dormitory situation, and some are cast out on the street.
Her dream is being fulfilled. The outside walls of the Boys' House of Hope is complete, and now God will provide the money to finish the interior. On the same piece of land God has given them, and next door, will be the teenage girls' House of Hope!! I am so thrilled because, pray as we might for a few of these kids (2 Dimas, one a lame friend of our Peter's), no American parents have stepped forward to claim them. It seems they will be the beginning, core group of godly boys who will be in the home! Praise God!
Lela is confident the money will flow in. She knows her God, and she told me how years ago, two little kids had done chores to earn 33 cents to donate toward her going to Ukraine the first time. She prayed God would multiply those 33c and within three days she had $7500!
Again, God sure has a lot of money. Plus, He's generous.
