Mosquitos!

Thursday we went in to the school again to see where the boys will be. They will do grade 3 reading until they are confident enough to proceed to Grade 5. Their classes like Music and Art P.E. and Library will be with the Grade 5 kids.

They have enjoyed having Rob home this week, though it was not fun for him because he had the flu. They visited the ophthamologist, and we found out just how blind James is in one eye where he got stuck with a piece of glass, and how poor Peter's vision is. They will each get new glasses.

Since their eyes were dilated from the eyedrops, they could not read for Ms. Victoria's. So we all cleared off the lunch table and sat around telling stories in English. Then we asked each other questions about the stories.

Peter told a folk tale about animals (of course), and James told about the last day he saw his mother. When she never returned from the market, he had to provide for himself. I wonder how many other little homeless kids around the world catch mosquitos and spiders for food. That breaks me up.

It is so very amazing to me the resiliancy of this one. But then, Jesus is the Cure of All Ills.
