Beeg School
Today I had a visit with our Headmistress at the Christian School Rob attends. She is thrilled that the boys will be attending. For the next month we shall continue working at home on phonics and reading and spelling, and next week we'll go in to shadow the 6th grade class in homeroom, music, science, history and PE.
The boys no longer are in dread of the "dee-rector", because she has met them, and they know she loves Jesus. They are excited but scared because they think they can't speak English. When they say that, I show them how many pages of words they already know. In addition, Victoria has taught them tenses like Simple Present, Present Continuous, Present Perfect, Simple Past and Past Perfect!! Besides, they speak to us constantly in English now.
While I was at the school today, she and James got talking about his past. This child has been through much sorrow and trauma, yet is so peaceful and with such a nice personality. He brought the topic up at supper tonight. He had a good family until everything fell apart when he was four years old.
Later he was forced to leave home and fend for himself. Eventually, as God would have it, he was picked up and taken to the orphanage. Thankfully for us, his heart was already turning toward us and he was ready to come to his new home.
Please implore God on behalf of those left behind in his class, especially one, a gifted little artist, who desperately needs a family.
