Time to Fly
While this blog was not running for several days, much else in our lives has been operating at a rapid clip. Our visas and tickets arrived, our crisp dollar bills counted and stashed, the house cleaned, suitcases packed, and dog taken to the kennel. The really fun stuff, however has been the letters and packages that have come in a steady stream from families, homeschoolers, and individuals reaching out in love to some lonely homeless children in a faraway country.
They have sent letters, toys, drawing pads and pencils, beanie babies and more. My suitcase soon was bursting over the top, til I had to fetch another, and finally send Rob dragging and bumping down the stairs the biggest one he could find in the attic.
Letters by email have come too, several a day, asking me to please hug Tolik or Alyona, pray a prayer over Nina and Dima. "Don't tell them we'd love to adopt them, but if they guess, tell them God is loving and faithful and to pray to Him."
In the middle of it all has been our wonderful, tangible miracle from Estonia. She and her husband dream with us about the kids coming. She came to know the Lord in Estonia, worked as a translator since she was 14 years grew up in Communist Estonia and felt God call her here to America when she was 18.
Our sweet college students came by tonight for well wishes and a slice of lemon chess pie and tea. Up and at 'em in the morning and hustle off to the airport. God bless us everyone!!
