Psalm 91 says, He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High shall say of the LORD: my refuge and my fortress....a thousand shall fall at your side but it shall not come nigh thee....He shall give his angels charge over thee to keep thee in all thy ways...Isaiah 54 says no weapon formed against thee shall prosper. Jesus said, Lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the age, I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Last evening we went to church expecting to hear a teaching from our wonderful pastor. Thank God he listens to the Spirit and obeys, because he set aside his sermon and allowed the worship to continue to flow uninterrupted for the full hour.
I explained to the kids. That is what you do when there is another category 5 hurricane hovering in the Gulf. The other thing you can do is what Daniel did in chapter 9. He repented on behalf of his sinful nation.
When we lived in Galveston and Hurricane Gilbert was approaching, some Believers went down to the beach and repented. We watched God replace His hand of protection over our island. That big hurricane moved away from its sure path towards us and veered off to an unpopulated area of Mexico. The malice of the enemy was not permitted to harm us.
May God grant us all a spirit of repentence for our nation, and may He dissipate this thing in His great mercy, and divinely protect all those in its path who call upon His Name. We can "stand in the gap" for those in danger.
Fear has no place in this, only faith. Perfect love casts out fear, and God is love. We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. It is who we are in Jesus.
